    LAS VEGAS - The Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl continues its third season of conducting weekly Facebook player-of-the-week polls, driven by fan votes, recognizing exemplary on-field play within the two Bowl affiliated conferences, the Pac-12 and Mountain West. Fresno State linebacker Ejiro Ederaine has been voted the fan favorite of the Mountain West, while running back Ka'Deem Carey of Arizona picked up the honor from the Pac-12 for the second consecutive week.

    A first-time winner, Ederaine recorded a career-high 10 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss, with two sacks in Fresno State's overtime victory over San Diego State. He also picked up a fumble and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown, which was the second longest score of its kind in school history. His 4.5 tackles for loss matched the most in a single game by any FBS player this season and is the most by a Bulldog since 2011. Ederaine is the fifth different Bulldog to earn the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week honor this season.

    Ka'Deem Carey, Junior, Running Back, Arizona (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) Carey picks up his fifth career, second consecutive, Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Pac-12 Player of the Week honor after rushing for 119 yards and four touchdowns on a 23 carries in Arizona's 44-20 win over Colorado. He also had three receptions for 12 yards. He has now rushed for 100 yards in 10-straight games, which leads the nation. His four touchdowns were one shy of his career mark and he has scored at least two rushing touchdown in 10 games during his Wildcat career. He is the first player from the Pac-12 to earn the award twice this season.

     

     

    Each week, players from both the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences will be selected for nomination and then posted for voting. All college football fans are welcome to cast their vote starting on Monday each week for Player of the Week at www.facebook.com/lvbowl.
