FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State seniors Bryce Harris and Zak Hill have been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Football first-team for District 8, as was announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Both Harris and Hill now become eligible for the Capital One Academic All-American teams that will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 8. They too follow in the footsteps of Andrew Jackson, Ben Jacobs and Vince Pascoe, where were selected to the All-District 8 first-team a year ago and Pascoe was named an Academic All-American in 2010.

Harris, who is a three-time Academic All-WAC selection (2007-09), has started in 34 consecutive games for the Bulldogs at left tackle. The computer engineering major with a 3.71 GPA has led the Bulldog offense that is averaging 393 yards per game and has paved the way for running back Robbie Rouse, who ranks No. 9 nationally by averaging 120 rushing yards per game.

Hill, a 6-2, 205-pound safety out of Fresno, has started in five of the seven games he's played in this year and he is eighth on the team in tackles with 30, has one tackle for a loss and one pass breakup. A biology major with a 3.66 GPA, Hill was an Academic All-WAC selection in 2008. His 14 tackles against Nevada on Oct. 22 were the most by a Bulldog in two years.

"We Are Your Team" - The Fresno State Bulldogs play at New Mexico State this Saturday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. The game is being televised by the WAC Sports Network and it can be seen on KAIL 7 in Fresno, KUVI 45 in Bakersfield and on CHN (Channel 104 on Comcast SportsNet California) in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose
