Fresno State to Offer Discounted Tickets Online for Football Game vs. SMU

Nov. 13, 2000

FRESNO, Calif. - In an effort to reward the thousands of Fresno State fans who have shown unprecedented support of Bulldog football this year, athletics ticket manager Scott Wetherbee has announced tickets for Saturday's SMU-FS football game will be available for only $14 beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. on Fresno State's official athletics website,

Approximately 3,000 tickets remain for Saturday's contest, which begins at 4 p.m. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

"We have had an incredible show of fan support this entire season," Wetherbee said. "This is a great opportunity for us to show our thanks to all of the Fresno State fans who have come to watch the Bulldogs this season."

The Bulldogs have sold out all four of their home games this season and have attracted the four largest crowds in Bulldog Stadium history, including 42,285 to the Fresno State-California game Sept. 23.

Saturday's game will be one of the most exciting of the year for many reasons, including:

  • The game is the annual Senior Day, in which the Bulldogs honor their 14 seniors.
  • Fresno State will be going for its fifth consecutive sellout and the school record for season average attendance.
  • A win by the Bulldogs will make them bowl eligible for the second consecutive year.
  • It is the final home game of the 2000 season.
  • Fresno State will be going for its 15th consecutive home victory, a streak which would be the fourth-longest in the nation.
