COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced on Monday morning that Fresno State senior quarterback Derek Carr has been named the MW co-offensive player of the week. Carr shares the honor with Wyoming quarterback, Brad Smith.

As Fresno State improved to 10-0 on the season, Carr orchestrated an offensive masterpiece from behind center as the `Dogs defeated New Mexico 69-28 on Senior Day. The fifth-year senior was 27-of-37 passing for 522 yards, and threw for a career-best seven touchdowns before exiting the game at the end of the third quarter. He also extended his MW record streak of attempts without an interception to 266 - longest current streak in the FBS.

Carr's seven touchdown passes set a new school record, equaled the Mountain West record and tied Wyoming's Smith for the single-game high in the FBS this season -- who also threw for seven TDs this past weekend.

The 522 passing yards established a new MW senior class record and are the fourth-most in a single game in MW history. Carr was 15 yards shy of breaking is own single-game school passing record set on Sept. 26, 2012 against San Diego State (536). He added 26 yards rushing to finish with 548 yards total offense, which also set a new MW senior class record and ranks as the third-highest in conference history. It tied Jeff Tedford for the second-best performance in Fresno State history, and trails only Carr's active record of 570 set last season against SDSU.

With Carr at the helm the Bulldogs totaled 701 yards total offense in three quarters. Fresno State went on to set a record 822 yards total offense and broke the all-time school mark of 757 set in 1991 against New Mexico. It was the second-highest total in the NCAA this season, behind only Baylor's 872 yards versus West Virginia.

The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has named Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr one of eight quarterbacks as its "Stars of the Week." College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at 11 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Player of the Week.
