COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West named Fresno State junior quarterback Derek Carr its co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. This is the third time this season Carr has been named the MW Offensive Player of the Week.
On Sunday, the Walter Camp Football Foundation named Carr its National Offensive Player of the Week. Then the College Football Performance Awards honored Carr as its National Performer of the Week and National Quarterback of the Week.
The honors come after Carr completed 28-of-32 passes for 452 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions as the Bulldogs defeated Air Force 48-15. The win gave Fresno State a share of the Mountain West football crown, marking the Bulldogs' first league title since 1999.
Carr's .875 completion percentage set a new school record while ranking as the best single-game performance by a junior in MW history (third overall).
His third 400-yard passing game of the year also established a new MW single-season record.
The Bakersfield, Calif., native completed his first nine passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns in the first 21 minutes of the game. Included in those first nine passes were completions of 28, 64 (touchdown), 36 (touchdown) and 53 yards.
Overall, Carr completed eight passes of over 20 yards and averaged 16.1 yards per completion while extending his streak of consecutive pass attempts without an interception to 126.
Carr and San Diego State running back Adam Muema shared the conference offensive player of the week award. Muema rushed for a career-high 255 yards and four touchdowns in SDSU's 42-28 come-from-behind win at Wyoming.
