FRESNO, Calif. - Mighty Robbie Rouse had quite the mighty night in Fresno State's 69-14 win over Colorado on Sept. 15 in Bulldog Stadium. In an unforgettable game, Rouse provided this year's No. 5 Fresno State Athletic moment on a record run.

Rouse entered the game needing just 79 yards to break the school's all-time rushing record that had stood since 1993 when Ron Rivers ended his career with 3,473 yards.

It didn't take long for Rouse to hit that mark, as late in the first quarter he was able to break the record while tying another.

On a second-and-seven from the Bulldogs' own six-yard line, Rouse took the handoff from Derek Carr, cut back to the right side of the line, got a key block on the edge from Josh Harper and sprinted all the way down into the end zone with Davante Adams clearing the path for Rouse to glide over the goal line.

With that one run, Rouse became Fresno State's all-time leading rusher and in the process he tied the school record for the longest run from scrimmage.

"It was better than I ever imagined. I never imagined that the record would be broken on a 94-yard run," Rouse said. "I just want to thank my teammates and everyone - offense to defense - I couldn't have done it without them."

Bulldog Stadium erupted - chanting `Robbie, Robbie, Robbie.'

"It was a great feeling breaking the record, doing it on a 94-yard run and the crowd was chanting my name," Rouse said. "It was special."

Rouse also erupted. On his special night he scored four touchdowns - all in the first quarter - and helped Fresno State record its largest win over a BCS school since the BCS was formed in 1998.

Playing in just the first half, Rouse finished the game with 144 yards rushing on nine carries with two touchdowns and he caught four passes for 42 yards and two more TDs.

Rouse ended is magnificent career with 4,647 rushing yards. He leaves Fresno State owning 10 school records to his name.
