While this is Chuck's 22nd year assisting with the men's golf team, he is no stranger to Fresno State athletics. Aside from his involvement with golf, he also volunteers his time as the official scorekeeper for Fresno State men's basketball games. He is also a lifetime member of Fresno State booster clubs including the Dugout Club, the Tip-Off Club, the Time-Out Club and Parbusters.
Bandelian graduated in 1975 from Fresno State after earning his bachelor degree in management and marketing. He has coached City League basketball teams from A through open divisions, including championship squads in A division in 1971 and AAA in 1983. Bandelian graduated from Fresno's Bullard High School in 1969, where he competed in basketball and baseball.
He is the general manager of a family-owned business (Allied Linoleum and Carpet Company, Inc.) with his father John Sr. and brother Richard.
"I have known Chuck for 40 years. He is a great guy to have around when you run a golf tournament," Watney said. "To me he has been a fellow student, a great sports fan, a successful businessman, and a friend. When I first realized that he might be able to help with the team I was elated. He has connections in the community and he is extremely popular with the guys on the team. His previous coaching background is also very valuable to me when we brainstorm to come up with new ways to help the team."
