RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team concluded the Farms Collegiate Invitational led by Keenan Nelson who finished among the top-15 of the 69-player field.
Nelson fired four-over par on the tournament to record 220 (74-72-74). He made eight birdies over three rounds of play and finished in a tie for 13th place.
Nelson trailed the two tournament leaders by ten strokes. Grant Forrest (71-69-70--210) of USD won the individual title over Jimmy Beck (71-69-70) of Kennesaw State after the duo competed in a playoff hole.
The Bulldogs carded 42-over par, 906 (297-297-312) to finish in 10th place out of 12 teams.
USD recorded four-under par, 860 (283-2292-285) to take the tournament title.
The Fresno State men's golf team will return to action on Feb. 19-21 at the John Burns Invitational in Kauai, Hawaii.
