MEADOW VISTA, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team endured the final round of the Winchester Classic in Meadow Vista, Calif. on April 21 to finish the tournament in ninth place out of 11 teams.
On the day the Bulldogs fired their lowest round of the tournament and made 15 birdies to conclude the Winchester Classic at 33-over par, 897 (302-299-296).
Senior Rufie Fessler led the Bulldogs throughout the three-day tournament to finish three-over par, 219 (71-74-74) and in a tie for 11th place. On the day Fessler fired two-over par, 74 and made three birdies.
Trailing behind Fessler were Bulldogs Jack Mulroy (78-81-70--229), Nate Jessup (79-76-74--229) and Troix Tonkham (75-76-78--229). Mulroy, Jessup and Tonkham each finished in a three-way tie for 33rd place at 13-over par.
Mulroy starred as the only Bulldog to fire under par on the day with two-under, 70. Mulroy was the second Bulldog to fire under par on the tournament following Fessler's one-under par, 71 in round one of the Winchester Classic.
Rounding out the lineup was Johnny Partridge who shot 15-over par, 231 (78-73-80) to take home a tie for 37th place.
Competing as an individual was junior Daniel Russell who finished the tournament in the top 25 of the 55-player field. Russell fired seven-over par, 223 (73-76-74) to sit in a tie for 21st place.
