"I am very pleased with the first day of the year," head coach Mike Watney said. "They did not play flawless, but they played very good."

"Troix is a great addition as a freshman," Watney said. "His cool and composure was amazing out there and I don't think it is luck. I think he is going to be a very good player for us."

Another Bulldog leader is Rufie Fessler who sits even with a tie for ninth (70-74--144).

Rounding out the Bulldog line up was Jack Mulroy who shot 7 over par (76-75--151) and Keenan Nelson who shot ten over par (73-81--154).

"Keenan didn't have a good day but he had a solid first round which helped us and Jack is our number one man right now," Watney said. "He had a bad start in each of his rounds and tried to fight back."
