Men's Golf Finishes 12th At William H. Tucker Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Fresno State (300-296-289) climbed from a 14th-place standing Oct. 2 at the William H. Tucker Invitational to finish 12th with 885. Arizona (279-284-292 - 855) held its lead over host New Mexico (286-283-288 - 857) with a narrow two-stroke margin for the title.
The Bulldogs improved their game the third round, with three of five players matching or shooting under par. Jason Anthony (78-70-72 - 220) tied for 24th after beginning the day tied for 37th and Mark Modglin (73-76-72 - 221) climbed 12 places after matching par to finish tied for 33rd.
Ryan Carter (73-80-74 - 227) and Jon Rosa (79-77-71 - 227) tied for 64th, with Rosa shooting one under to climb from 90th and Carter from a tie for 77th. Brian Kelley (76-73-83 - 232) shot an 83, dropping from a 45th-place tie to finish tied for 87th.
Fresno State returns to action Oct. 8-9 when it hosts the Fresno Lexus Classic at the Fort Washington Country Club.
