Men's Golf Swings into 8th

By Elly Walker FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team shot one over par (296-289--585) and moved into 8th place after round two of the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate in Kauai, Hawaii. "This was a pretty good round by the Bulldogs," head coach Mike Watney said. "The course was tough and the wind was up, but we played a lot better. The key is that we had four guys play solid golf." Troix Tonkham leads the Bulldogs with a score of 147 (76-71). Tonkham shot one under par and finished in a tie for 29th place. Junior Nate Jessup (75-73--148) made five birdies and shot one over par to finish in a tie for 37th. Senior Rufie Fessler (76-73--149) sits in a tie for 40th place. Fessler made four birdies and eagled on hole eighteen. Senior Jack Mulroy finished even par (77-72--149) and sits in a tie for 40th place. The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday, Nov. 7 for the third and final round of the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate with tee times set for 7:30 a.m. HST.
