Men's Golf Ready to Tee Off Spring Season

    FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team will tee off its spring season on Monday, Jan. 27 at the UCI Anteater Invitational in Costa Mesa, Calif.

    The Bulldogs will compete against seven teams plus four individuals from UCLA in the two-day, 54-hole tournament at Mesa Verde Country Club.

    "I am really looking forward to getting back into competition," head coach Chad Spencer said. "No better place than heading to Southern California for great weather and a great golf course. Hopefully this will be a confidence booster as we head deeper into the spring season."

    This will mark the Bulldogs first appearance in the UCI Anteater Invitational.

    The Bulldog lineup includes Nate Jessup, Troix Tonkham, Neil Bautista, Russell Takeuchi, and Daniel Russell.

    Tonkham ranks 10th among Mountain West contenders with a 73 stroke average and Jessup ranks 15 with a 74.11 stroke average.
