Men's Golf Ready for Last Tourney before Championship

    FRESNO, Calif. -- Coming off a two-week active practice schedule with no tournaments, the Fresno State men's golf team will compete in its final tournament before the Mountain West Championship.

    The Bulldogs will compete in the OGIO-UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate on April 14-15. The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,068-yard Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif.

    The Bulldog lineup includes Nate Jessup, Keenan Nelson, Michael Pugh, Neil Bautista, and Russell Takeuchi.

    "We can't wait to get to Santa Barbara and play at Sandpiper," head coach Chad Spencer said. "It's one of the best courses in California. We are looking forward to continuing the momentum from Stanford and hoping to get a win!"

    Among the 10-team field are Long Beach State, Air Force, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UCSB, Fresno State, UC Riverside, Utah, Cal State Northridge, and Utah State.

    The tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 with a shotgun starting at 8:15 a.m. and will continue on Tuesday, April 15 with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
