    FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team will travel just outside fabulous Las Vegas to compete in their last WAC Championship on April 30-May 2. The tournament is held at the 7,332-yard, par-72 Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. for the fourth year in a row. New Mexico State will return to defend their title after cruising to an 11-stroke victory. Last year, the 'Dogs placed third and were only one shot behind second place San Jose State. Bryan Hogan, playing in his final collegiate tournament, set his career best finish by claiming third place with a 2-under, 214 (68-74-72).

    Bulldogs Win Winchester Classic
    The Fresno State men's golf team held onto the lead during the final round of the Winchester Classic to claim the team title with a 10-over, 874. It was not only the Bulldogs first tournament victory of the season but their first win since the San Marcos Invitational in February of 2008. Sophomore Nate Jessup fired a 2-under, 70 to move into a career-best second place tie at 1-over (72-75-70--217).

    Fessler Earns WAC Honor
    Fessler, a junior from Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield College), was named WAC Golfer of the Week for the week of March 26-April 1. Fessler finished in a tie for 14th at the U.S. Intercollegiate. He opened the tournament with a 5-under par 65 to become the first round leader. Fessler finished with a 4-over par 214 (65-77-72). The 65 was the best of any golfer in the tournament during the three rounds and is tied for the fifth lowest round by a WAC golfer this year. It is the first time that Fessler has won a WAC golfer of the week or month award.

    Mulroy Wins WAC Golfer of the Week
    Jack Mulroy, a junior from London, England, was awarded the WAC Golfer of the Week for the week of March 5-11. Mulroy shot a 69 in his second round at the Fresno State Lexus Classic to help him finish in a tie for 37th with a 7-over, 223. The 69 was the best round for Mulroy this season who is in his first year with the Bulldogs. It is the first time that Mulroy has won a WAC golfer of the week or month award.
