    FRESNO, Calif. -- The Bulldogs tee off their 2013-14 season at the St. Mary's Invitational on Sept. 23-24 led by head coach and Bulldog alumnus Chad Spencer.

    For the first time in 35 years, the Fresno State men's golf team will begin their season with a new head coach.

    The two-day tournament is held at the par-72, 7,104-yard Bayonet and par-72, 7,024-yard Black Horse golf courses in Monterey, Calif.

    "We are excited and ready to play in our first event of the season," head coach Chad Spencer said. "We have a solid team that can be a contender."

    The Bulldog lineup includes Troix Tonkham, Nate Jessup, Neil Bautista, Daniel Russell and Keenan Nelson.

    Among the 19-team field, the Bulldogs will face No. 1 Cal. and fellow Mountain West contender Hawai'i.

    The 54-hole tournament will begin with a shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 a.m. followed by another shotgun start on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8 a.m.
