Both Golf Teams Travel to Oregon|

FRESNO, Calif.- The men and women's Fresno State golf team are on the road participating in the 2008 Giustina Memorial Classic at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore.
Oregon State is having its home tournament in honor of Natale B. "Nat" Giustina, who played a fundamental role in the creation of Trysting Tree Golf Club. OSU will host an event, which will pair the men and women's teams from each participating school in a combined competition against the other participating schools. Each person will also compete individually. Teams invited to play in the tournament include Oregon State, Fresno State, Oregon, Washington State, San Francisco, Portland, Boise State, Idaho, Sacramento State and Nevada.
The men's line-up consists of Bradd Wyatt, Grant Doverspike, Michael Gideon, Matt Ryan and Bryan Hogan. Their female partners will be Taylor Siebert, Louisa Lies, Hali Coppin, Pia Escandon and Chelsea Czinski, respectively.
The tournament is being held at Trysting Tree Golf Club Sept. 22-23. Tee time is set for 8:45 a.m. PT on Sept. 22. The tournament will be continuous play and leaders will start last on Tuesday. Tee time for Tuesday is set for 7:45 a.m. At the conclusion of the memorial classic there will be awards held for individual men and women's medalists as well as a combined award. 36 Holes will be played on Mon. and 18 holes on Tues. The course is par 72 spread over 7,030 yards for the men, and par 72 over 6,282 yards for the women.
Last year the women's team finished in a tie for seventh place out of ten teams. Senior Taylor Seibert finished tied for 20th place along with teammate Pia Escandon. Hali Coppin finished 34th of 49 individuals.
The men's team finished in second place of ten teams. Senior Matt Ryan finished in a tie for fifth place. Juniors Bradd Wyatt and Todd Angel both finished in a tie for eighth place. Grant Doverspike tied for 20th and Michael Gideon tied for 41st.
"This tournament is very unique in the fact that it's the only tournament that is played in this style," Coach Mike Watney "We never really get to spend time with the other team. This will allow us to get to learn from each other's playing styles," Coach Cates-Moore said.
