Dogs Head to Alister MacKenzie Invitational
After a solid performance in the first tournament of the season, a fourth place finish te Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, the Dogs head to the Bay Area to compete in the prestigious Alister MacKenzine Ivitational at the historic Meadows Club. A Dr. Alister MacKenzie design established in 1927, The Meadow Club islocated in the North Bay's Marin County. The course sits high above the town of Fairfax, near the Pacific Ocean. The Club has hosted 19 satellite fundraising events for Men's Golf beginning in 1989. Meadow Club has hosted the 2008 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship (hosted by Cal), the 2001 US Open qualifying, the 1997 NorCal PGA Section Championship and the 1990 NCGA Junior Championship. The Dogs won this tournament in 2002, led by Nick Watney who won the individual title. In 2005, Bulldog Jon Rosa won the event. Dogs Open Season at Wolf Pack Classic
After a sensational summer performance as a United States Amateur Semifinalist, sophomore Bhavik Patel finished in second place at the star-studded Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev. Patel's performance led the Bulldogs to a tie for fourth place in the team competition. Fresno State carded a team score of -9 (855) in the three round event Patel shot a final round of 70 (-2) to continue his recent strong play as the top finisher from a Western Athletic Conference school with scores of 71-67-70=208 (-8) over the two-day period of 54 total holes. Fresno State's Adam Barkow also broke out for a top ten finish, sparked by the second lowest final round of the day at 68 to card 71-72-68=210 (-5) for the competitive competition.
