FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team heads to Sonoma, Calif. to compete in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Oct. 14-15. The annual tournament is hosted by No. 4 Cal and will be held at the par-72, 7,103-yard Sonoma Golf Club.

"We are looking forward to playing in Cal's event," head coach Chad Spencer said. "It's a great field and I am excited to see how they do after a couple weeks of great preparation."

The Bulldog lineup includes Troix Tonkham, Nate Jessup, Neil Bautista, Keenan Nelson, and Daniel Russell.

Among the 16-team field are No. 4 Cal and No. 23 Arizona State as well as Mountain West rivals Colorado State, Hawai'i, San Diego State University, and San Jose State. Competition will begin on Monday, Oct. 14 with a shotgun start set for 8:15 a.m. and will continue on Tuesday, Oct. 15 with tee times set for 8 a.m. off the first and tenth hole.

In years past at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, the Bulldogs have made successful strides along the course while bringing home multiple top-20 finishes. The most memorable moment though, came for the Bulldogs in 2002 when they brought home not only an individual win, but the team title as well. The 'Dogs fired 11-under par, 841 to take the gold and were led by Nick Watney who recorded 13-under par, 200 to win among the individuals.
