FRESNO, Calif. -- Men's golf head coach Chad Spencer announced the addition of Cody Riecks to the Bulldogs' 2014-15 roster after Riecks signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Fresno State.
"We are extremely excited to have Cody join the Fresno State golf team," Spencer said. "He is a talented player that can hit the ball a really long ways. He will be a player that can make an impact immediately to our line-up."
Riecks is an Auburn, Calif. native and will join the Bulldogs in fall 2014 after he graduates from Maidu High School in May 2014.
"I chose Fresno state because when I meet with the coach I was impressed by the facilities and felt that the coach was a great guy," Riecks said.
Some of Riecks' top tournament accomplishments include getting second place at an FCWT event with a score of 72-67--139, playing in the U.S. Junior Amateur at Martis Camp in Truckee, Calif., placing third at the Rancho Canada for the NCGA, and qualifying for the junior amateur at Yolo Flyers Country Club.
The men's golf team looks forward to having Riecks join the Bulldog family. The Bulldogs tee off their spring season on Jan. 27, 2013 in Costa Mesa, Calif. at the UCI Anteater Invitational.
