FRESNO, Calif. - Men's golf head coach Mike Watney announced the signing of Troix Tonkham to a National Letter of Intent for the 2012-13 season.

"I am delighted to have Troix coming into our program," Watney said. "He is a young man with everything in order. He has an excellent swing, he has a great attitude, he has outstanding grades, he is physically fit and he can really play golf."

Tonkham currently attends Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies (SOCES) in Tarzana, Calif. where last season he captured the City Section individual golf title. He also has three top-four finishes in national level AJGA events and has won several tournaments on the Southern California junior circuit.

"What has me especially excited is that he is really pumped about becoming a Bulldog," Watney remarked. "I have a feeling that Troix is going to be a young man who will do the extra work necessary to become great."

"Troix seems to play best when the competition is toughest," Watney concluded. "He'll be fun to watch."
