    FRESNO, Calif. - UCLA won four of six singles matches in straight sets as the seventh-ranked Bruins defeated No. 36 Fresno State 7-0 on Thursday afternoon at the L.A. Tennis Club.

    The loss was the first of the year for the Bulldogs (2-1). UCLA picked up a victory (2-0) in its first dual match of the spring season.

    The only Fresno State players to extend their opponents to three sets were Stefan Suta at No. 3 and Jakub Cech at No. 5. A super-tiebreaker was played for the third set at No. 3, in which Suta lost 10-8. Cech fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

    The Bulldogs stay in Southern California for a match on Saturday against No. 21 USC at 2 p.m. at the Marks Tennis Center.
