EUGENE, Ore. --- The Fresno State men's tennis team concluded its five-game road trip with a 6-1 loss to No. 51 Oregon on Sunday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Ore.

"We competed much better today against a very experienced Oregon team," said Fresno State head coach Evan Austin.

The Bulldogs lost the doubles point early on as Oregon took matches on courts two and there with 8-2 wins.

Fresno State then fought hard in singles play and walked away with one singles victory in the loss. In just his fifth dual match of his collegiate career, freshman Eric Komati came from behind to defeat Kevin Farin on court three (2-6, 6-3, 10-2) to garnish the Bulldogs sole point.

"Overall I think we made great strides this weekend and are looking forward to our first home matches next weekend," added Austin.

After starting dual play with five road games, Fresno State is set to return to Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center to for its home opener against UC Irvine on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs then host San Diego State the next day at 12 p.m. for their first conference match of the year.
