TUSCON, Ariz. --- The Fresno State men's tennis team defeated Utah State 4-3 for its first Mountain West victory of the season on Friday afternoon at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz.

For the second match in a row Fresno State (6-7, 1-2 MW) dropped the doubles point and then went on to win four singles matches to seal the match at 4-3.

After losing the doubles point to the Aggies with loses on courts one and three, the Bulldogs came out strong in singles to surge for the win. Nikloas Papic, Eric Komati and John Darmstaedter each one their respected points in two sets to put the 'Dogs back in the match.

With the dual tied at 3-3, freshman Ethan Lopez clinched his match in straight sets on court six to win the deciding point for the Bulldogs.

"The conditions were tough today, but we did a good job finding a way to get a win against a very competitive Utah State team," said Fresno State head coach Evan Austin. "We are looking forward to a good opportunity against Arizona tomorrow."

Fresno State is set to play Arizona for its final match of the weekend tomorrow at 11 a.m.
