No. 44 Dogs defeat No. 54 Idaho, 4-2

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 44 Fresno State men's tennis (10-8, 2-0 WAC) continues its winning streak in Western Athletic Conference play defeating No. 54 University of Idaho, 4-2. The Dogs earned the doubles point and victories on courts three, four and five.
In doubles, the Dogs earned an early lead over the Vandals getting the doubles point. The No. 17 doubles team Rikus de Villiers and Remi Boutillier snatched one up against Idaho's Marius Cirstea and Alex Joitoiu, 8-3 on court one. Francis Alcantara and Jean-Charles Diame were victorious against the Aggie's Lachlan Reed and Jose Bendeck, 8-6 on court two.
In a straight set match victory Alcantara defeated Abid Akbar, 6-3, 6-4 on court four giving the Dogs their second point in the day. After dropping his first set, Diame rallied back and earned the next two sets to his advantage, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 giving Fresno State its third point. Nick Papac clinched the match for the Bulldogs on court five over Bendeck, 6-4, 7-5.
Idaho earned victories on courts one and two.
Fresno State returns home in the upcoming weekend to host four WAC teams including, Hawai'i, Nevada, Boise State and New Mexico State. Fresno State will compete against Nevada at noon on Friday April 15, Boise State at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 16, and New Mexico State at 11 a.m. on Sunday April 17.
