Another Classic Bulldog and Bronco Match

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 46 Fresno State and No. 19 Boise State didn't disappoint in the marquee WAC men's tennis matchup of the year, as the Broncos narrowly came away with a 5-2 victory in Boise, Idaho on Saturday. Junior Flavio Mollinedo was the first to put the Bulldogs on the board with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Blaine Shields. Tejesvi Veerepalli also picked up win for the Bulldogs by defeating Stanley Sarapanich, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Boise State picked up had three other matches that went into a third set, that proved to be the difference in the match for the Broncos. The doubles matches were equally competitive. No. 37 Rudolf Siwy and Mirko Zapletal knocked off No. 39 Kean Feeder and James Meredith, 8-4. The Broncos won the other two matches to pick up a hard-earned team point. "It was a tough match that could have gone either way," head coach Jay Udwadia said. "All of our focus is on the WAC Championship now." The Bulldogs are now 16-8 on the season, including a 5-1 mark in WAC play, and the No. 2 seed for the WAC tournament, which runs from April 24-26 in Honolulu, Hawai'i. NCAA MEN'S TENNIS
