    LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- In the final regular season match of the year, the Fresno State men's tennis team fell 7-0 on the road to UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon.

    The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-4 in conference play and secured the fifth seed in the MW tournament that begins on this upcoming week in Colorado Springs, Colo. Fresno State will play the four-seed on Thursday at 10 a.m.

    To begin the match, the Rebels took an early 1-0 lead by sweeping doubles. UNLV's No. 3 duo won first 8-5 over Jeremy Quiroz and Sai Kartik Nakireddi, then Ace Matias and Bernard Schoeman clinched the point winning 8-4 at the top spot.

    UNLV took a quick 2-0 lead as Johannes Markel defeated Quiroz 6-1, 6-1 on court six. The Rebels then took courts five and four to clinch the match. Fresno State's Felipe Fritz and Kartik both played third set tiebreakers, but ultimately came up a few points shy of winning.
