Men's Tennis Completes Day 1 of Napa Invite

    FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State men's tennis team will kicked off the fall season today in the Silverado Resort and Spa 2012 College Tennis Invitational in Napa, Calif. The Bulldogs faced Pacific in singles and Arkansas in doubles.

    In singles, the Bulldogs split their four matches with the Tigers. Junior Jeremy Quiroz defeated Trevor James in three sets 6-4, 0-6, 6-1. Fellow Bulldog Reid DeLaubenfels topped Denis Stolyarov 6-3, 6-4. Sai Kartik Nakireddi fell to Sem Verbeek in a tough three set match 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Fresno State's Sam McNeil was topped by Alex Hamilton 7-5, 6-2.

    In doubles, Quiroz and Kartik Nakireddi were topped by Arkansas' Greg Lehmann and Hall Fess 8-3. DeLaubenfels and McNeil fell 8-5 to the Razorback's Manfred Jeske and Mike Nott.

    Tomorrow the Bulldogs will take on San Francisco in doubles at 9:00 a.m. and Auburn in singles at 10:30 a.m.
