    DAVIS, Calif. ---The Fresno State men's tennis team kicked off the Aggie Invitational in Davis, Calif. Friday winning three out of four opening singles matches and one of two opening doubles matches.

    In the flight A singles, Reid DeLaubenfels defeated Davidson's Kyle Miller in a tight three set match 6-7(2);6-3;6-2 in the round of 32. DeLaubenfels then faced Jamin Bal and fell 7-5, 6-2 in the round of 16.

    In the flight B singles, the 'Dogs picked up two first round wins from Sam McNeil and Sai Kartik Nakireddi. McNeil also won a closely contested 3-set match over Pacific's Eric Cedarwall 2-6;7-5;6-2. McNeil dropped his round of 16 matchup against Anthony Tsodikov 7-5, 6-2. In the round of 32 Kartik follwed suit in playing and winning a three set match over Cal's Jordan Smith 6-0, 6-1, 6-3. In the round of 16, Kartik was the only Bulldog to advance with a 7-6(6), 6-3 victory over Sam Bloore. Jeremy Quiroz dropped his opening three set match to ValentmGoncalves 3-6;6-4;6-3, but bounced back to win his consolation match 6-1, 6-2 over Nevada's Nicholas Sexton.

    In doubles action, the Bulldog duo of deLaubenfels and McNeil topped USF's Germain Bahri and Richard Bucalem 9-7 in the A flight. Quiroz and Kartik teamed up in the B doubles flight and fell 8-5 to Pacific's Ben Mirkin and Trevor James.

    The Bulldogs continue action in the Aggie Invitational all day Saturday and Sunday.
