MORAGA, Calif. ---The Fresno State men's tennis team finished its first day of Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Men's Regional tournament with seven singles victories on Friday at the Moraga Country Club in Moraga, Calif.

The Bulldogs started the day of competition off strong, winning 5-of-7 singles matches in the round of 128. Ethan Lopez, Sai Kartik Nakireddi, John Darmstaedter, Adriaan DuToit and Sam MacNeil all advanced to the singles round of 64.

Darmstaedter and MacNeil were the only 'Dogs to win their matches in the next round. Darmstaedter came from behind to defeat Pacific's Daniel Alameh (3-6;6-4;6-4). MacNeil won his match over Jayson Amos of Oregon in three sets (3-6;6-1;6-2). Darmstaedter and MacNeil will advance to the singles round of 32 on Saturday afternoon.

Fresno State is set to compete in doubles play tomorrow morning, continued singles matches will follow directly afterwards.
