STOCKTON, Calif. --The Fresno State men's tennis team won five of their six matches, including both doubles matches, on Friday afternoon at the Pacific Tiger Invitational at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts in Stockton.
In doubles, Sam MacNeil and Sai Kartik paired to beat Seth Hein and Vince Paganetti of Sonoma State 8-3. The other Bulldogs doubles team of Adriaan DuToit and John Darmstaedterknocked off Tracy Bebile and Matt Halligan from Holy Names 8-6.
MacNeil was also a winner in the Round of 16 of the singles portion of the tournament. The senior won when Sam Bloore of Saint Mary's withdrew due to injury. Darmstaedter also won via a withdraw, his coming against Yale Goldberg of Stanford. Kartik was the third Fresno State player to advance in the singles draw, beating Nathan Lewis of Saint Mary's 6-4, 6-2.
The lone Bulldog loss came in singles from DuToit. He dropped a tight 6-3, 6-4 match against Saint Mary's Thomas Alexander Hunt.
