    'Dogs Kickoff 2014
    The Fresno State men's tennis team continues its season on the road against Oregon (No. 54) and Idaho. The Bulldogs seek to maintain their series domination of both teams when they play Oregon on Friday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. and Idaho on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Ore.

    About the Competition
    This year the Oregon Ducks (No. 54) started off their season in Durham, N.C. at the ITA Kick-Off and are 4-1 with their only loss coming from nationally ranked Duke (No. 17). The Ducks swept Fresno State conference rival San Diego State (No. 50) 4-0 to finish off their first weekend of play this season. The Idaho Vandals are 2-0 this season after defeating Seattle University and Eastern Washington in their first dual meet last weekend. This weekend they will face off against Fresno State and Portland State.

    On the Road
    The Bulldogs open their 2014 spring season with five dual matches over two weeks. After facing Cal Poly and St. Mary's in Moraga last weekend, Fresno State heads to Eugene, Ore. to take on the nationally ranked Oregon Ducks (No. 54) and Idaho.

    Home Opener
    After opening the season on the road, the Bulldogs are set to host UC Irvine for their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Sierra Racquet Club. Fresno State then turns around the next day to face No. 50 San Diego State for their first MW match of the year at noon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

    Austin Enters Second Season
    Head coach Evan Austinenters his second season at the helm of the Fresno State men's tennis program. In his first year at the reigns, Austin led the Bulldogs to a fifth place finish in their first year in the Mountain West with a 2-4 record. Austin also guided the 'Dogs to their highest ITA ranking of No. 50, which came on Jan. 3, 2013. Under Austin's leadership one Bulldog was named to All-Mountain West singles team at the conclusion of season.

    Newcomers
    Austin welcomes the addition of four new Bulldogs to the roster this year. Freshmen John Darmstaedter, Alexandros Georgios Vakouftsis, Eric Komati and Ethan Lopezwill join the three returners for their first dual season with Fresno State this spring. Darmstaedter and Lopez joined the 'Dogs in August, 2013 and competed in all the fall tournaments while Komati and Vakouftsis are new additions this spring.
