FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team dropped one spot to No. 17 in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings, released Wednesday.

The Bulldogs (7-5) had remained at No. 16 since Feb. 26 but fell one position despite going 2-1 last week, posting victories over Pennsylvania and Arizona, then ranked No. 27 and 38, respectively.

The only other WAC teams in the women's rankings are Tulsa at No. 47 and Boise State at No. 58.

Chloe Carlotti is ranked No. 8 in the nation in the singles rankings, which were not released Wednesday. The next individual poll is March 26.

On the men's side, the Fresno State (8-6) jumped to No. 50 in the team rankings. Other WAC teams in the latest poll are Rice at No. 30, Tulsa at No. 43 and SMU at No. 54.

The women's team has this week off before playing four matches in seven days, beginning Monday. The men's team resumes its match with No. 52 Harvard on Saturday at Stanford. The Bulldogs and Crimson began their contest at the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic last week, but with the score tied 3-3 the match was postponed due to rain.
