`Dogs Host Pacific for Senior Day

FRESNO, Calif. - Senior Rudolf Siwy prepares to take the court for the final time at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center, as the No. 39 Fresno State men's tennis team hosts No. 54 Pacific on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Siwy is ranked 64th in the nation and the defending WAC Player of the Year. The senior from Trinec, Czech Republic, is also tied for 14th all time on Fresno State's career wins list with 75 wins. With partner Mirko Zapletal, Siwy ranks at No. 37 in the country in doubles. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 13-7 record and are 3-0 against WAC foes. Things have been coming together for Fresno State, which has won seven of its past eight matches. Zapletal has been particularly hot, winning seven of his last eight appearance in singles. Conversely, Pacific is 11-5 on the year and won four of its last five matches. The two teams are well-acquainted with each other, and this will be the 20th time they have met. The Bulldogs won the previous 19 meetings. Fresno State came away with a 7-0 shutout last time it faced Pacific on April 20, 2008. This will be the Bulldogs final regular season home match, and will next travel to Boise, Idaho for three WAC matches over the weekend. Fresno State starts the weekend against No. 67 Nevada on Friday and finishes with a doubleheader on Saturday against No. 75 New Mexico State and No. 19 Boise State. The WAC Tournament will be held in Honolulu, Hawai'i from April 23-26.
