    FRESNO, Calif. - After two weeks of voting the fans have spoken! The 2000-2009 Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Decade results are in!

    A total of 242 fans logged on to www.gobulldogs.com and voted for their favorite men's and women's tennis players of the decade.

    Peter Luczak competed with the Bulldogs from 1998-2000. In his first season at Fresno State, Luczak posted an 18-6 record after joining the team in January and began the season 3-3. He went on to finish out the season with a 15-3 record. Luczak was named WAC Athlete of the Week on March 18. Luczak was named to the All-WAC second team and honored as the Region VII Rookie of the Year. He posted a 5-4 record at No. 1 and a 10-2 record at No. 2. In the 1998-1999 season, Luczak claimed Fresno State's third ever All-American award and made his first ever appearance at the ITA National Clay Court Championships and the ITA All-American Championships. The entire season he was ranked in the singles national rankings. During this season, Luczak reached a career-high No. 40. He was named WAC Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 1 and named to the All-WAC singles second team. He qualified for the NCAA singles tournament and was named team co-MVP. In the 1999-2000 season, Luczak entered his last season ranked No. 32 with 82 career wins. Luczak joins his teammate Olivier Le Jeune in the semifinals at the ITA Regionals. In the fall 2000, Luczak took the semester off to compete in professional tournaments and in the spring went 26-0 in singles before losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

    Melanie Gloria was named WAC Player of the Year all four seasons she was at Fresno State (2006-2009) and ranks second all-time in school history with 123 wins. In 2006, she was the WAC Freshman of the Year and finished the year ranked as No. 23. Her highest rank in the season was No. 18. Her freshman year she was named ITA Northwest Region's Rookie of the Year. In 2007, Gloria was a NCAA All-American, a First-Team All-WAC selection in singles and doubles and reached No. 2 in the national rankings. Gloria was NCAA All-American in both singles and doubles in 2008 as well and earned First-Team All-WAC honors in both singles and doubles. She won the ITA Northwest Regional Doubles title with Tinesta Rowe, going 5-0 at the tournament. Gloria finished the spring season ranked No. 15 in singles and No. 2 in doubles and helped Fresno State win the WAC team championship and earn a spot in the NCAA team tournament. In fall 2008, Gloria was ranked No. 1 in the nation in doubles to begin season with Rowe. She was an Academic All-American in 2009 and named the ITA Northwest Senior Player of the Year. She won four WAC team championships in her time at Fresno State and helped lead the team to four-straight NCAA Sweet 16's.
