FRESNO, Calif. --- First-year head men's tennis coach Evan Austin announced Tuesday the addition of Nikolas Papic who has signed a financial aid agreement to join the 'Dogs in January.

"Nikolas will be a great addition to our roster this January," Austin said. "He has had great success on both the junior and men's ITF circuit. He has goals to take his game to the professional level and has exactly the type of mentality we are looking for in a student-athlete. I'm extremely excited to begin working with him this spring."

Papic, a native of Santiago Chile, has a career high junior ITF ranking of 242 and a ATP men's ranking of 1351. His tennis career highlights include qualifying and reaching the 2nd round of the main draw of the Chile F5 futures tournament as well as recording a number of top 100 ITF junior wins.

"I'm really looking forward to joining the Fresno State Men's Tennis Team in January," said Papic. "I chose Fresno because of the competitive schedule, great conditions for training and opportunity to advance my game to the professional level."
