Travis Pascoe

Fresh off of an All-American season at Nebraska, Travis Pascoe joins the coaching staff of Fresno State in 2005. Pascoe will supervise the wrestling club, enforce academic compliance, contribute to recruiting and help with wrestling instruction during the 2005-06 campaign. A four-time NCAA qualifier and a 2004-05 All-American, Pascoe finished sixth in last year's NCAA championships at 184 pounds, and will provide technical help with the wrestlers. As a collegiate wrestler, Pascoe become the 13th Nebraska wrestler to reach the 100-win plateau, recording 101 wins in four years. A key part of Nebraska's recent success, Pascoe helped the team make finish in the top 20 at the NCAA Championships four years in a row, including an eighth place finish in 2002 and a fifth place finish in 2004. In addition, Pascoe was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Month in December of 2004 after registering nine wins including the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational title. Also an accomplished wrestler in high school, Pascoe complied a 138-8 career mark and won three Washington state championships at 189 pounds. He was also named a high school All-American while at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, Washington. This position marks the first full-time coaching experience for Pascoe. He has previously worked as an instructor at Nebraska wrestling camps and clinics. Pascoe will also continue wrestling in preparation for the upcoming world championships and Olympic Trials, where he will compete at 85 kg (184 pounds). A native of Rathdrum, Idaho, Pascoe earned his Bachelor's Degree of Biological Studies from Nebraska in 2005. He currently lives in Fresno. |
