COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State junior guard Ki-Ki Moore has been named the Mountain West Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week along with Boise State forward Lauren Lenhardt, the league office announced Monday.
This is the first time Moore has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week, but it is her fifth overall conference player of the week accolade in her career. She also becomes the second Bulldog this season to earn the award, as Taylor Thompson was last week's MW Player of the Week.
Moore led the Bulldogs to a pair of wins last week in Fresno State's first two Mountain West games in school history, as she averaged 18.5 points on 45.2 percent shooting and nine rebounds in the two victories.
Moore got the Bulldogs off on the right foot, as she recorded her third double-double of the season and ninth of her career in leading Fresno State to a 80-72 road victory at preseason favorite San Diego State on Wednesday. Moore had 15 points and 11 rebounds to go with three steals and three assists in the win over SDSU.
Then in Saturday's 69-65 victory over New Mexico, she went 9-for-15 from the field for a game-high 22 points. It was her fourth game this season and 15th of her career scoring 20 or more points. Moore added seven rebounds and three assists in the victory over the Lobos.
Fresno State (10-5, 2-0 MW) travels to Wyoming (Jan. 16) and Nevada (Jan. 19) for a pair of games this week. The Bulldogs are the only team in the Mountain West with a 2-0 league record.
