FRESNO, Calif.- Prior to leaving for this weekend's road trip to Rice and Tulsa, the Fresno State women's basketball team participated in a community service event at Valley Children's Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
The entire team and coaching staff spent a couple of hours this afternoon visiting patients at the hospital. During the visit, athletes and coaches participated in a variety of activities that included reading, playing games or touring the facility. The basketball team also greeted patients with cookies.
The team is scheduled to participate in additional community service activities during the next month as the season continues.
"We're excited about the number of community service events we have planned throughout the Central Valley this year," said head coach Stacy Johnson-Klein.
Fresno State (7-9, 1-5 WAC), which has lost four in a row for the first time since the end of the 2001-02 season, is faced with a pair of road games this weekend.
