FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball player Alex Sheedy is keeping a season-long blog on the team and their experiences both on and off the court. Here is her fourth entry of the 2013-14 season.
Hey Bulldog Fans,
I hope everyone is well, and Happy Valentine's Day. I know that I don't actually care so much about it, but there are people who love it. I guess it's nice to get flowers and gifts from people, but it's just another day honestly.
I am sorry I haven't had this blog up sooner, I have literally been drowning in homework and have had about zero time to sit down and have a minute to myself the last few weeks. This is a crazy time of the year, I feel like all the professors got together and decided to give the most homework possible during the first week of class. It's terrible. I'm doing two online courses as well, so I can miss less class when we travel, and let me tell you - online course are not as fun as they sound. Not to mention there is a possibility that I lost my textbook for my Anthropology course and have no other way to study for my weekly quizzes. Oops.
I know that a lot of people have been asking about my foot and when I'll be back. I'm working hard to get back as soon as I can, but I don't know when that will be. All I can say is: soon! The boot is so annoying and I can't wait to get it off, so hopefully I'll be walking with less of a `gimp limp' as Jacinta calls it, soon.
So it has been a tough couple of games, but this team is full of fighters and I love that. We have been disappointed with the losses, but we know how good we are and we know that when we play our best there is no one that can stop us. So keep cheering for us, because we love it and won't stop until we are champions.
I can hardly believe that it's February already. Mid-Feb! Only a month of season to go, which is funny because in November it feels like there is about a year left of season. Our season is incredibly long, but rewarding. And I only have one and a bit left to go. Crazy stuff. Freshmen year seemed so long ago. I can't believe how much my accent has changed since then. It's very sad.
Shout out to Bree Farley for the huge game she had against Nevada the other day. It was awesome.
This blog's player spotlight is going to be on Alex Furr, because she's hilarious and she has been doing so well this season after her last crazy two years.
Player Spotlight - Alex Furr #11
Hometown: Athens, Texas
Year/Major: Senior in school, possible two years left on court. (It's very confusing.)
Favorite animal and why: Shark, because I've always been fascinated with them. I guess I like to be scared, I find them really spooky.
Superpower: Invisibility, you can get away with a lot. I would like to be invisible on a plane so I could get a free plane ride anywhere.
Dream Job: Back-up dancer. Ever since I was little I've wanted to be a back-up dancer for someone really cool.
Well, once again, if you have any comments or questions that you would like me to answer, please email Jason [firstname.lastname@example.org] and he will pass them on to me.
