The Bulldogs are set for their final regular season road game of the 2013-14 season this Saturday when the Fresno State women's basketball team takes on San Diego State at 2 p.m.
Fresno State snapped a four-game road losing streak on Wednesday with its 78-72 overtime victory at Boise State. That was the first overtime game of the season for the Bulldogs and the first under head coach Raegan Pebley, who is now in her second season at the helm of the Fresno State program. Pebley is 41-19 at Fresno State and currently has the Bulldogs in second place in the Mountain West.
Last year the Bulldogs finished second in the regular season before going on to win the 2013 Reese's Mountain West Tournament. The 'Dogs won four-straight entering last seasons conference tournament. This year, Fresno State has the chance to go into the tournament on a five-game winning streak. The Bulldogs have won three-straight entering Saturday's game, which is their second-to-last of the regular season.
Over this current three-game winning streak Fresno State has been led by senior guard Taylor Thompson. She is averaging 19.3 points per game, 7.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and is shooting 47.7 percent from the field in that span. Thompson scored eight of Fresno State's 10 points in the overtime win at Boise State and finished the contest with 24 points, one shy of her career-high.
Thompson has scored in double figures in 17-straight games and in 24-of-27 games this season.
San Diego State took the first meeting between schools this year, 70-69 back on Jan. 15 in Fresno. The road team has won the last three games in the series.
► Fresno State enters Saturday's contest having won three-straight. The Bulldogs' longest winning streak of the season is four games, which came on Jan. 1-11 to open Mountain West play.
► Last season, Fresno State defeated San Diego State 80-72 on the road in the Bulldogs' first-ever Mountain West league contest.
► Sophomore guard Moriah Faulk has averaged 11.0 rebounds and 8.0 points coming off the bench in the last three games. She has a team-high five double-digit rebound games this season.
► After Wednesday's 78-72 overtime victory at Boise State, the Bulldogs are now 5-5 in games decided by six points or less. Each of Fresno State's last four games have been decided by that margin with the 'Dogs winning the last three of them.
► Fresno State Athletics and ESPN2 790 AM are celebrating the women's basketball senior class by offering free ticket vouchers to Senior Night on March 7. The vouchers may be redeemed at the Save Mart Center Box Office for four free tickets to Senior Night.

The Aztecs are shooting 42.5 percent on the season, led by Cierra Warren who shoots a Mountain West-best 56.0 percent from the field. Warren leads SDSU with 15.3 points per game and she also averages 6.3 rebounds. Series History with San Diego State
This will be the 40th all-time meeting between the two rival schools. San Diego State leads the series 26-13 after taking the first meeting of the season 70-69 back on Jan. 15 in Fresno. San Diego State guard Danesha Long hit a contested jumper with seven seconds remaining to give the Aztecs the win over the Bulldogs in the first meeting. The two teams faced off three times last season in the Bulldogs first year in the Mountain West. Fresno State won two of the three games, beating San Diego State 80-72 on the road and 76-70 in Las Vegas in the 2013 Reese's Mountain West Basketball Championship game.
On A Hot Streak
Senior guard Taylor Thompson has scored in double figures in all but three games this season and has done so in 17-straight contests. Over her last three games, she has averaged 19.3 points. Thompson scored 24 on Wednesday at Boise State, which was one off of her career high. Then last week, she put in 18 points vs. Wyoming (2/19) and 16 vs. Utah State (2/22) when she hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer.
Faulk On the Glass
Sophomore guard, Fresno State's sixth person (first off the bench), has averaged 11 rebounds over her last three games and has pulled down 10 or more boards in each contest. Faulk has become the first Bulldog since Hayley Munro in 2010 to have three-straight games with 10 or more rebounds. Munro had 38 total rebounds (12.7 average) in three consecutive contests from Nov. 14-20, 2010. Faulk has 33 total rebounds in her last three games. Her five total games this year with 10 or more rebounds lead the team. For the season, she is averaging 7.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game.
Fresno State's Sharp Shooter
Bree Farley hit five 3-pointers and went for 15 points in the first meeting with San Diego State this season. That is the most 3-pointers she has made in a game this year and matched her career-high she set at Colorado State last season. Farley enters the second game vs. SDSU this season hot, averaging a team-best 16.2 points over the last six games. She also averages 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals in that time frame where she has hit a team-best 12 3-pointers. For the season, Farley has hit a team-best 43 3-pointers and is shooting 45.4 percent overall from the field. In four career games against San Diego State she has gone 7-of-17 on her 3-point attempts for 41.2 percent.
Wednesday's victory at Boise State was Fresno State's first overtime game under head coach Raegan Pebley and its first game that has gone into overtime since Nov. 18, 2011, a 81-78 double-overtime loss at Pepperdine. In that loss to Pepperdine, Taylor Thompson scored eight of her 19 points in the overtime sessions. On Wednesday at Boise State, Thompson scored eight of Fresno State's 10 points in the overtime period.
Saturday's game will be Fresno State's first in the month of March. The Bulldogs have won nine-straight regular season games in the month of March going back to 2009. Their last regular season loss in the month of March came on March 2, 2009 at Louisiana Tech, 80-62. Last season, the Bulldogs won their two March games over Air Force and UNLV by an average margin of 25.5 points.
Fresno State, currently standing at 17-10 overall on the season, is in the hunt for yet another 20-win season. The Bulldogs have won 20 or more games in each of the past six seasons, although Fresno State had to vacate its 22 wins during the 2007-08 season due to NCAA violations.
Fresno State ranks No. 2 in the Mountain West in scoring defense, allowing just 62.3 points per game. Opponents have only shot 39.4 percent against the 'Dogs this season.
