Bulldogs Host Aggies on Senior Night

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team returns to the Save Mart Center to host New Mexico State on Thursday at 7 p.m. All general admission tickets for the game are only $2. Thursday is also the final home game for seniors Erica Henry and Tierre Wilson.

The two seniors are the second winningest class in Fresno State history with a 79-42 record. Henry has played in 104 games in her four years, averaging 5.1 points and 4.2 rebounds. Wilson has played in 106 games and averaged 11.8 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Fresno State comes into Thursday's game with a 12-2 record in WAC and a 17-10 mark overall. If the Bulldogs win their final two regular season games they will win at least a share of the WAC title. No Fresno State women's basketball team has won a WAC championship.

The Bulldogs and New Mexico State played one of the most entertaining games of the season on Saturday when they defeated the Aggies 85-84 in overtime thanks to a shot from just beyond half court by Hayley Munro that went in. Munro earned WAC Player of the Week honors on Monday and her shot made the Top 10 plays on SportsCenter on Monday afternoon.

Scouting New Mexico State
New Mexico State is 20-7 and 10-4 in WAC play. The Aggies are led by the play of Sherell Neal who is scoring 14.7 points and averaging 10.1 rebounds a game. Anikia Jawara is scoring 12.7 points and averaging 6.7 rebounds. New Mexico State is scoring 69.4 points a game and shooting 42 percent from the field.

Fresno State leads the overall series 6-5 after the Bulldogs earned a thrilling 85-84 overtime win in Las Cruces on Saturday. The Bulldogs won the last two meetings.

Senior Farewell

Conference Tournament History
Since joining the WAC the Bulldogs have been the sixth seed six times, seventh seed one time, fifth seed two times, fourth seed three times, second seed once, the third seed once and the ninth seed once. The Bulldogs best finish in the tournament came in 2003 when they lost in the championship game as a third seed.

Wilson Moves Into Elite Company
Tierre Wilson moved into the top 10 for career point leaders at Fresno State at San Jose State. She currently sits in eighth place with 1,256 points and needs 17 points to move into seventh place. She is 10th for most steals in school history with 156 steals. Wilson's 11.8 points per game average for her career moves her into 10th place for career scoring average at Fresno State.

Dogs in the NCAA Rankings
Jaleesa Ross is 12th in 3-point field goal percentage at 43.6. She is in 12th for 3-pointers made per game at 2.8. As a team the Bulldogs are 3rd in the NCAA in 3-pointers made per game at 8.1. They are also in the top 50 in scoring (50) rebounding margin (45), and assists (36).
