FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team had all its questions about the 2012 NCAA Tournament answered on Monday afternoon. The Bulldogs, who were awarded a No. 12 seed, are headed to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to face No. 5 seed Georgetown on Sunday, March 18 at 9:20 a.m.

"It's great," said head coach Adrian Wiggins. "They are a good program. We are very familiar with their style. It's a fast-paced style. So it's fun for our players to experience that because we try to play fast."

The `Dogs (28-5) are making their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and looking for their first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

Fresno State is coming off its WAC Tournament title win, an 89-61 victory over Louisiana Tech Saturday in Las Vegas. The Bulldogs swept the WAC titles after posting a 13-1 conference mark in regular-season play.

"It's nice to know where we are headed," said senior Blakely Goldberg. "Coming off our last game, we have a lot of confidence heading into the postseason. I'm excited because we are playing so well together. I want us to succeed and with the way our team is playing I think it is possible to do something special."

Leading the way for the Bulldogs is WAC Player of the Year, Ki-Ki Moore, who averages 16.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.9 steals. Fresno State ranks in the top 50 nationally in 11 statistical categories, including third in three-pointers per game (9.8), fourth in turnover margin (7.5) and ninth in scoring (75.5).

Georgetown is led by Sugar Rodgers, who averages 18.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. The Hoyas fell in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament and earned an at-large berth with a 22-8 record.

The winner of the Fresno State-Georgetown game will play the winner of the No. 4 Georgia Tech/No. 13 Sacred Heart game on Tuesday.

"You want them to be themselves," said Wiggins. "If you are good, your talents will come out. It's a once in a lifetime deal, so we want them to take advantage of it."

"We Are Your Team!" The Bulldogs are headed to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The `Dogs face Georgetown on Sunday, March 18 at 9:20 a.m. Listen to the game on ESPN2 790 AM with Guy Haberman.
