Alex Sheedy Blog from China: Entry 5
July 25, 2013
MOE, Australia - Fresno State women's basketball player Alex Sheedy played in a four-nation tournament in China for the Emerging Opals Australian Basketball team, June 25-27.
She kept a running blog of her experiences playing and traveling throughout China, and here is her final blog entry recapping her trip.
Sorry for the lateness of this blog entry, I have been busy and lazy all at the same time! So, let me just get this down and say thanks to the people who were reading about my China adventures!
So, I got back from China a few weeks ago after the most horrific flight and lay-over schedule ever. China was a cool experience, it was good to see another culture that was so different from Australia and the U.S. They have some pretty crazy cultural things, like shaving their dogs to look like lions and the way they drive is so dangerous I could never drive there, ever.
Unfortunately for my family, I didn't actually shop enough to get proper souvenirs for them... I am not sure, but I don't think they were very impressed with that! So when I finally got home on a Saturday morning, I went straight to get pampered with my nails done and then I went to support the local footy club. By 3 p.m., I almost passed out from being so tired. I went back to sleep for a few hours and then I went to a function that night. So after the first week at home after China, it's safe to say that I was a little tired!
But now, I only have a few days left until I return to Fresno. I am pretty excited to see everyone and get back to the heat! Well, not so much the heat, but definitely to see all my teammates - old and new! And I can't wait until I can get back into my apartment and my own space. I love my parents and my brother, but my apartment really feels like home especially because I don't have to do all the housework when mum says to!
So this is only a short entry, but I will see everyone soon (Sunday afternoon!), and hopefully I will get a tan.
