Bond To Resume Duties As Director Of Operations
Aug. 28, 2006 Fresno, Calif. - Head Coach Adrian Wiggins announced that Kelsi Bond has been hired as the new Director of Operations for the Fresno State Women's Basketball team. Bond previously held that position for two years from 2002-2004 before taking a position as the head coach of the women's basketball program at Canton High School in Canton, Okla. In her time there, she led the program that had won six games in the year prior to her arrival to a 16-9 record in her final year, the first winning season for the school in four years. With the hire, Bond rejoins head coach Adrian Wiggins and assistant coach Brett Frank as part of a staff that improved the women's basketball program from a 9-20 overall record in 2001-02 to a 20-11 record last season and a Women's NIT appearance. "We're very excited to have Kelsi on our staff," said Wiggins. "She will bring a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to our women's basketball program." Bond's duties will include scheduling team travel, film exchange, assisting in fundraising efforts and organizing community-related events. Prior to joining the coaching staff in 2004, Bond attended Cameron University where she played under current head coach Adrian Wiggins. A point guard during her playing career, Bond set two school records in career three-point percentage and assists. In addition, Bond was a PLUS Scholar in her time at school. A 2003 graduate of Cameron University, Bond earned her B.S. in Elementary Education. She joins Sadiaa Jones and Becky Hoskins as new coaches for the 2005-06 season.
