FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2011-12 women's basketball coaches and media polls on Tuesday. Fresno State was picked to finish the conference season in second place by the media and third by the coaches.

The league also revealed the Preseason All-WAC teams and the Bulldogs had two earn honors. Junior Rosie Moult was named Preseason First-Team All-WAC, while sophomore Taylor Thompson garnered Preseason Second-Team All-WAC honors.

The `Dogs enter the season as the reigning conference tournament champions. Bree Farley hit the buzzer-beating shot in the championship game to lift the Bulldogs to their fourth-consecutive NCAA appearances.

Head coach Adrian Wiggins and the `Dogs return two starters in Moult and Thompson, who both finished last season with WAC honors. Joining Fresno State this season are seven new faces, two transfers and five freshmen.

The Bulldogs kick off the season with its third annual Red and White Hoop Night on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center. This is the first chance for fans to see both the men's and women's team in action.
