Fresno State Pegged 2nd In MW Women's Preseason Poll

FRESNO, Calif. - The Mountain West announced Monday that the Fresno State women's basketball team was voted second in its 2012-13 preseason women's basketball poll. The voting panel consisted of the league's nine head coaches and select women's basketball media from around the conference.
Fresno State, a newcomer to the conference, collected two first-place votes and was picked to finish second with 163 points. San Diego State was tabbed first with 22 first-place votes and 198 points, while the 'Dogs sit ahead of UNLV who sits in third with 137 points. Wyoming was pick fourth (136), followed by Colorado State (109), New Mexico (97), Boise State (86), Nevada (41) and Air Force (32) to round out the nine member conference.
Junior Ki-Ki Moore was named to the preseason all-MW team. Moore, a 5-8 guard from San Francisco, Calif., was the 2012 WAC Player of the Year, 2012 WAC Newcomer of the Year and 2012 WAC Tournament MVP as a first-year starter for Bulldogs last season. Moore led the team with 16.8 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game and 2.8 steal per game, while starting all 34 games. She is joined on the preseason all-MW team by San Diego State guards Courtney Clements and Chelsea Hopkins. New Mexico guard Caroline Darbin and Boise State forward Lauren Lenhardt.
Fans have their first opportunity Tuesday to see the 'Dogs in action as they kick off the season with the Red and White Hoops Night at 6:30 p.m. in the Save Mart Center.
