Scouting Fresno Pacific
Fresno Pacific is taking a break from regular season play to play an exhibition contest against the Bulldogs on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Sunbirds play its final exhibition game against the Melbourne Roos. The Sunbirds are 1-2 in regular season play and finished 19-12 last season in NAIA competition.
Scouting No. 14 Cal
The Bears are led by the play of junior Devanei Hampton. The junior is a preseason John R. Wood award candidate and was named to the Preseason All-Pac 10 team. As a sophomore she was the Pac 10 Player of the Year after scoring 18.9 points and grabbing 8.9 rebounds a game. Cal won its two exhibition games, beating DT3 84-63 and Loyola New Orleans 93-65.
Bulldogs against the Bears
Cal leads the overall series with the Bulldogs 19-5. In the most recent meeting the Bears defeated Fresno State 77-62 on December 7, 2006 in Berkeley. Fresno State's last win against Cal was a 68-61 home win on December 17, 1995.
Home and Season Openers
Since 1971 the Bulldogs are 27-9 in home openers and 18-18 in season openers. Last year Fresno State opened the season winning at Utah 61-55 and then defeated No. 18 BYU 61-51 in its home opener.
Wilson Garners Preseason All-WAC Honors
Senior Tierre Wilson was named to the Preseason All-WAC coaches and media teams. Last year Wilson earned Second-Team All-WAC honors while averaging 14.4 points and grabbing a team-best 6.4 rebounds a game.

The Dogs have faced six Pac 10 schools in the programs 42 years. Fresno State is 3-1 against Arizona, 4-3 against Oregon State, 2-4 against Oregon, 2-5 against UCLA, 0-1 against Arizona State and 5-19 against Cal.
