FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State coach Adrian Wiggins has announced the signing of Jalei Kinder from Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, California to a National Letter of Intent. Kinder is a 5-7 guard who averaged 15.3 points a game as a junior while leading her team to the Central Section Division I championship.

"The number one thing with Jalei is that she comes from a great high school program that runs our system," Wiggins said. "She is a very competitive athletic guard. She will add a lot to our attacking game."

Kinder was named the Bakersfield Californian's Co-Girls Basketball Player of the Year last year. She hit 50 3-pointers, averaged 4.7 steals and 2.8 assists a game in Stockdale's fast-paced, high pressure style of play. As a team, Stockdale scored 70 points or more in 19 games last year. She also shot 41 percent from the field and averaged 3.9 rebounds a game.

Kinder is just beginning her senior season.

Kinder is the second student-athlete to sign an National Letter of Intent with women's basketball program as Alex Furr from Athens High School signed earlier in the week.
