Thompson Named Sysco Student Athlete of the Week

    Junior point guard Taylor Thompson guided Fresno State to a 2-0 record last week with victories over USC from the Pac-12 and Cal State Northridge of the Big West Conference. She averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists in the two wins at the Save Mart Center. Thompson sank two clutch free-throws with 12 seconds remaining against USC to seal the 'Dogs second win against a Pac-12 opponent this season. She was 7-of-8 from the line and shot an efficient 6-of-9 from the field in leading the team with 20 points, one-point shy of her career-high. Against Cal State Northridge, Thompson was again efficient shooting the ball, hitting 3-of-4 from the field while adding five steals.
